Managing Director and Principal Adviser

Tim Scott

Tim is a Certified Financial Planner® (CFP®) and has been a Financial Planner since November 2000.

Tim has extensive experience in all areas of Financial Planning, whether it be the early stages of wealth creation, through to preparing strategies for clients addressing their Retirement and Estate Planning needs. Intergenerational wealth transfer planning is an area of particular interest and expertise.

Tim also advises on Business Succession Planning and has an extensive knowledge of asset structures such as trusts, companies and superannuation including Self-Managed Superannuation Funds.

Tim maintains a strong interest and a wealth of knowledge in Portfolio Construction which is enhanced by administering the Ford Scott Investment Committee with our trusted Investment Partners.

One of Tim’s extra-curricular passions revolve around sport, with cricket being a focus. Tim’s community involvement in this sport has been extensive over many years as a player and coach, and now, as the Chairman of Cricket Tasmania.

Luke Oakes BEc, Adv DipFS

Luke Oakes

Luke has over 15 years’ experience in the financial services profession and holds a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Tasmania, an Advanced Diploma of Financial Services and SMSF Accreditation.

Luke specialises in wealth creation and retirement planning strategic advice. Luke also has extensive experience in using insurance strategies to implement wealth protection advice. Luke has won industry awards for his commitment to education and advice.

Louisa Polglase BEc, GDip FP

Louisa Polglase

Louisa joined Ford + Scott in August 2018 from previous roles in the financial planning industry to further her career development. Recently, Louisa completed a Bachelor of Economics majoring in Economic Analysis and is currently studying her Masters of Financial Planning. Louisa is kept busy with her young daughter Audrey when not studying or working. She also enjoys travelling, walking her dog Lola, and spending time at the beach.

Jayden Charlton

Jayden has over 15 years’ experience in the financial services industry and holds a Bachelor of Business degree and a Masters of Financial Planning through Kaplan Professional. He is also a practicing member of the Financial Advice Association Australia (FAAA).

Jayden has a keen interest in all financial matters, including specialising in wealth creation, personal risk insurance and retirement planning strategies. Jayden also has strong knowledge of asset structures such as Trusts, Companies and Self-Managed Superannuation Funds.

Away from work, Jayden enjoys being involved in sport, is a life member of the North Hobart Football Club and loves spending time with family and friends.

Thomas Martyn BBus, GradDip FP

Thomas Martyn

Thomas joined Ford + Scott in 2017, progressively working through his advisory pathway to now being an adviser. Thomas’ study has seen him complete a business degree at the University of Tasmania and his Graduate Diploma of Financial Planning with Kaplan Professional.

Outside of the office, Thomas excels at cricket; he is currently playing Club Coach at the Kingborough Knights in the Cricket Tasmania Premier League. Thomas also enjoys spending time with his wife, Erin, and young daughters, Evie and Sadie.

James Padgett BBus, LLB, GradDip FP

Adviser

James Padgett

James commenced employment at Ford + Scott in 2019. He holds a Bachelor of Business majoring in Finance and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Tasmania. He has since completed his Graduate Diploma of Financial Planning and is currently studying his Masters of Financial Planning.

James’ advice experience ranges from wealth creation and retirement planning to more complex matters including asset structuring and other tax strategies.

His interests outside of work include the Footscray Bulldogs, golf and ’80s music

Erica joined Ford + Scott in March 2022. Erica has over 20 years’ experience within the Financial Services Profession both in Hobart and Melbourne. As Head of Operations, Erica ensures the business runs smoothly so advisers can focus on what matters most — clients. Passionate about creating efficient processes, strong governance, and a consistently positive client experience.
